We are an all-volunteer, registered 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to finding homes for rescued corgis and corgi mixes where they can live, love, be loved, and thrive in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Important news about our foster program:
November 1, 2023

 

SECR is now able to reopen its doors on a limited basis to bring in new rescue dogs that are in the most critical need of our help.

 

Over the last two months, SECR has been closed for intake due to a diminished foster pool and limited resources as we worked to address the critical health needs of many dogs in rescue. We’ve worked hard during this time to find the right placement for our current foster dogs, place those ready for adoption in their forever homes, and boost our financial resources to be able to comfortably care for our rescue dogs’ medical needs. We also were able to bring several new people ready to foster dogs in need into the fold.

 

We ask for your patience and understanding as we slowly resume operations. SECR’s continued mission is to prioritize the health and well-being of dogs in our care, finding the right home for every dog not vice versa. As we identify dogs that we are in a position to help, we will bring them into our care and place them in foster homes that fit their needs. 

 

However, the number of new available foster homes is small, and not all are suited to the special needs of many of the dogs that come to us. Therefore, we continue to ask that you consider fostering and promote the opportunity to do so among your respective networks. 

 

We’ve been eager to return to helping dogs in need and are excited to be able to do so, but we want to do more. The number of dogs in need of rescue grows larger every day, and we need your ongoing support to be able to help them at the rate and speed they need. Please help us grow so we can continue to help them.

JORA’S FUND

Thanks to the extraordinary support of one of our fosters, we are excited to announce the December 2020 establishment of Jora’s Fund, a new SECR medical fund that will help defer the cost of medical treatments for Corgis and Corgi mixes.
