IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
After a lot of debate, significant resource and financial juggling, and stressful decision-making, SECR is announcing that effective August 9, 2025 we will temporarily pause intake of new rescues. We currently have 30 foster and forever foster dogs in our care, many of whom are in need of significant medical and rehabilitative treatment.
Every day we’re being hit by requests from every angle to take in more owner surrenders, accommodate more shelter pulls, and offer more support for dogs at risk than ever before. We’ve done the best we can to continue to keep the rescue healthy and thriving and take in as many dogs as we could for as long as we could. We are faced with the reality that we need to pause intake, and focus on the current dogs in our care. Once we have placed our adoptable dogs, addressed the health and training needs of others, we will once again welcome corgi and corgi mixes into the rescue.
Since SECR is a foster-based rescue, we can only bring a dog into rescue if there is an available foster home. If you feel you can help a corgi in need in preparation for a forever home, please consider fostering. Please know and embrace that the dog who needs you will be less than perfect. They’ll be coming from a previous life that wasn’t right for them and will need your time and love to decompress. They’ll need your patience and coaching to become the best version of themselves. It is the foundational mission of SECR to find the right home for every dog, not the right dog for every home, and we need your support to fulfill it. If you are interested in adopting a dog that is posted as available for placement, please first read their description. Each dog has been thoroughly evaluated while in foster care, and we want each placement to be a success.

ADOPTION
If you are interested in adopting from us, you can begin by submitting an adoption application. Due to the number of applications we receive each week, we may not be able to personally respond to all applicants. We will reach out to individual applicants when dogs that may be a good fit become available. Thank you for your patience and your support.
