Help us Help Finn

Calling all corgi fans! We have a newbie in the house, and he needs our help.

Meet Finn. He’s a young boy that just joined us, and has been through a lot in his short, little life. His Mom and Dad both carry the double merle gene, and as a result Finn was born deaf. He’s as cute as can be, but not being able to hear gives Finn high anxiety and always puts him on high alert. He’s slow to trust new people and other animals – exhibiting fear anxiety until given ample time to decompress – and is battling other internal health issues that are likely contributing to his fear.

Finn has seen our vets for several appointments since coming into rescue to get caught up on routine healthcare and vaccines, and a neuter is in his future. But, routine bloodwork has also pointed to potential issues with liver toxicity. His liver values are high above the normal range – something that’s uncommon for a young pup like Finn – and we’re working with vets to get to the root cause of the issue. Finn was just prescribed medication for his liver and is about to start a prescription diet that we hope to see bring his liver values down, but even if they help, he’s still not out of the woods. He needs an ultrasound to help pinpoint what’s going on internally, too.

We’re committed to seeing Finn through this fight. He’s a young boy who’s had a very rough start in life and deserves a chance to experience good health, learn how to manage his deafness, and become the happy, confident corgi he is meant to be. Can you consider joining us in this fight?

We know we ask a lot of our fans and followers – but it’s because we know that if there’s anyone we can count on when the chips are down it’s the people who love the low-riders as much as we do. If you’re in a position to help, please consider making even a small contribution to Finn’s care. Every penny goes a long way toward rehabilitation.
