6 years old, in foster
Harry is a 6 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who just joined our rescue, and he’s had a rough couple of weeks. His family welcomed a new baby, and Harry, a much loved dog his whole life, started showing signs of aggression around the newborn. It was a heartbreaking decision for his family, and they worked with us to make sure he landed somewhere safe.
Now Harry is in a foster home, a place he’s never seen before, with people he doesn’t know, trying to make sense of everything that changed so fast. On top of the emotional toll, we found some things that needed attention: dry eyes and some possible vision loss, an ear infection, and what looks like a torn ACL, none of which had been treated.
Our vet thinks his eye and limb issues are a big part of why he’s on edge and quick to react, especially when he’s touched somewhere that hurts.
Sweet boy is decompressing. He’s affectionate on his own terms, loves the car, and is slowly learning to trust again with the help of a patient foster. Right now his only job is to heal and feel safe, so he is not yet available for adoption. Stay tuned as he settles in and starts to show us who he really is.
