Meet newbies Pancake (red/white) and Waffles (red merle). These two bonded ‘sisters’ are 1/2 littermates and adorable. They were previously with a family who did not understand how much attention and activity they would need. They were initially rehomed on Facebook, but the adopter was also not able to handle them so they were then surrendered to us. They are over 1 1/2 years, but act much younger.

They need structure, a good routine, supervised activity, and house and crate training. We have them with an experienced foster who is working on these issues and basic obedience. She reports that they are very sweet but a bit wild, having had little guidance. She also reports that they are very smart and learning quickly.

Pancake had a congenital heart issue (PDA, patent ductus arteriosis) along with a couple of other anomalies, so she has had surgery at NC State. She currently seems well and tolerates normal activity and her prognosis is good.
