Hey corgi fans – Sonny has a very important announcement to share! He’s just sailed through his trial adoption and officially has a forever family.

Congratulations, sweet boy. We wish you and your new people many happy, adventurous years together filled with corgi smiles!

May 14, 2024: Adopt Sonny!

Sonny has an exciting announcement – he’s ready for his next adventure and is officially looking for his forever home! Learn about Sonny here and through his individual Facebook album. If you think you’ve got everything he needs, submit an adoption application.

**All applicants must be 21 or older and live within the Carolinas or Georgia. Submitting an adoption application is the first step in the process to adopt ANY SECR rescue dog. SECR’s primary commitment is to the rescue dogs in our care, and it is our mission to find the right home for every dog, not the right dog for every home. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to find the best fit for each available rescue dog, and our admin team will follow up with qualified applicants after applications are fully processed.

March 17, 2024: Welcome, Sonny!

It really is our lucky day – we’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a new corgi in the house! Say hello to Sonny.

Like many corgis with a strong herding drive, Sonny has anxiety around and reactivity toward young children. He came to rescue in search of a child-free home where he could be more relaxed in his own environment, and we’re happy we had the perfect placement for him! Sonny has spent the weekend getting the lay of his new land with his foster Dad and his new corgi foster brother showing him the ropes. Due to his herding nature Sonny also has some dominant characteristics, so his fosters will be working with him on resource guarding and sharing his things and his people. Sonny will also be visiting the vet this week to get caught up on a routine health exam.

**Sonny is new to rescue and not yet available for adoption as we work on his socialization and training needs. Follow our page for updates on his progress!
