Gracie

8 years old, adopted foster

July 26, 2021: Congratulations, Gracie!

When Gracie came to SECR back in March she needed a lot of help to become her healthiest, best self. She was overweight, battling recurring bladder stones, and in need of a strict maintenance plan to stay on track. We placed Gracie with a perfect-for-her foster family that put in the work she needed – a prescription-only diet, regular walks, consistent exercise, and a whole lot of love. Gracie is still a work in progress, but she’s a happier, healthier, lighter girl that loves to play, carry her tennis ball on walks, and celebrate how much more energy she has now than ever before. It’s no surprise that Gracie and her foster family bonded through her transformation and want to make their relationship one that lasts forever.

We’re happy to share the news that Gracie has officially graduated from foster to adoptee and will be adopted by her foster. Congratulations, Gracie and family!

March 12, 2021: Welcome Gracie to SECR!

We’re kicking off the weekend with a new Corgi in the house! Everyone put your paws together for Gracie!

Gracie comes to us as an owner surrender. She’s been re-homed in the past because she needs to be in an only-dog household, but she also has recurring bladder stones and needs to be on a strictly prescription diet. Her previous owner was struggling to keep her on the regimen she needs to stay healthy and asked us to step in to help her thrive.

Gracie will have a vet appointment soon to get caught up on bloodwork, heartworm testing, and a dental evaluation. She’s also currently very overweight so we’ll have her on a strict exercise plan and portion control of her prescription food to improve her overall health and well-being.

Welcome to the family, Gracie. We’re lucky to have you with us!
