5 years old, adopted by foster
Update December 8, 2021: Congratulations, Peyton!
It’s officially Wishful Wednesday for all of us at SECR, because today we’re wishing our girl Peyton all the best as she begins her new life as an adoptee!
Peyton joined the SECR family almost a year ago as an owner surrender because she had aggression towards other dogs and was unpredictable around young children. Since she arrived, training and socialization have been at the top of her to-do list as her foster Mom worked diligently to help Peyton build her confidence and learn to share her space with other dogs. Peyton has grown leaps and bounds in the past 11 months, becoming quite the “social athlete” by going on long hikes with her Mom and meeting local dogs during each adventure. She even became a local celebrity by participating in a 5k to support the canine unit of her town’s Sheriff’s office. Peyton is a happier, more confident corgi now than ever before, and she and her Mom decided they should keep the good things coming together. Peyton has been officially adopted by her foster Mom, and we couldn’t be happier for them both.
Congratulations, Peyton and family. We can’t wait to hear about your next adventure!

January 10, 2021: Welcome Peyton to SECR!
They always say that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, so while others are observing their day of rest we’ll keep claiming Sundays for rescue!
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest addition to the family, Peyton! She comes to us as an owner surrender due to issues with aggression towards other dogs and concerns about unpredictable behavior around young children. Peyton loves her adult humans but needs to be the only dog in an adult only home to be the best Corgi she can be, and we’re glad that’s something SECR is able to provide.
We’ll share more about Peyton as she settles in and begins to tell us more about herself!
