Bennett

5 years old, transferred to behavioral specialist

July 8, 2022: Welcome Bennett!

Please join us in welcoming our new arrival, Bennett!

Bennett joins us as a shelter pull and needs a lot of help. Bennett came to us with some scab wounds around his neck – possibly the result of flea bites – and pain causing him to be sensitive to and fearful of touch. He also has issues with anxiety and reactivity around people suggesting he may have at some point been abused or neglected.

Our first priority is to help Bennett get caught up on long overdue medical care and work with him on socialization, basic manners, and potty training. His special needs require that he be placed with someone willing to work with him and with a lot of patience in training. Bennett is currently recovering from a neuter earlier this week (he also badly needed dental), so we hope having had his surgery will also help calm him and lessen issues with marking. Bennett needs help learning to trust people, and time and consistency should get him on the right track to being the best corgi he can be.

Welcome to the family, Bennett!

*Bennet is new to rescue and is not available for adoption at this time.
