Peter

1 year old, adopted by foster

February 5, 2023: Congratulations, Peter!

Please put your paws together for Peter, sharing the good news today that he’s graduated from SECR foster to adoptee!

This sweet boy came into rescue back in June after a breeder surrendered him to one of our vets for fighting with other dogs. We placed him in a home where he could be the king of his castle as an only dog and his fosters quickly got to work on training, socialization, and confidence building. Peter was also under weight when he came to us and his coat was in rough shape, so starting a healthy diet, vitamins and supplements was also at the top of our to-do list. He began to thrive and quickly bonded with his fosters, finally finding his place in the center of a loving family that understood his needs. Lucky for Peter, he’s sticking with the family forever because he’s officially been adopted by his fosters.

Congratulations, Peter and family. We wish many happy years together filled with zoomies!

June 8, 2022: Welcome Peter!

Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be another corgi… surprise! Say hello to Peter.

Peter joins the SECR family after a breeder surrendered him to one of our vets for fighting with another dog. We haven’t seen any aggression ourselves, but will be working with Peter to make sure he gets the training, socialization, and slow and supervised introductions to other dogs that he needs to thrive. He’s also underweight and has a bit of a thinning coat, so we’ll be helping him gain a few extra pounds and boost his diet with the addition of Omega 3s and Omega 6s.

We’ll share more about Peter as we learn more about him, but for now are happy just knowing he’s safe and on the road to a better corgi life. Welcome to the family sweet boy!
