Bobby

6 years old, adopted

March 16, 2024: Congratulations, Bobby!

Bobby just sailed through his trial adoption and is spending the weekend celebrating his new forever family. Congratulations, sweet boy. We’re so happy to have brought you together and wish you many wonderful years together!

February 4, 2024: Bobby is available for adoption!

Bobby is ready to find his forever! Learn about him here and through his individual Facebook album, and if you think you’ve got everything Bobby needs, head to our website to submit an application!

**All applicants much be 21 or older and live within the Carolinas or Georgia. Submitting an adoption application is the first step in the process to adopt any SECR rescue dog. SECR’s primary commitment is to the rescue dogs in our care, and it is our mission to find the right home for every dog, not the right dog for every home. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to find the best fit for each rescue dog, and our admin team will follow up with qualified applicants after applications are fully processed.

November 12, 2023: Welcome, Bobby!

Please help us welcome our newest addition to the SECR family, Bobby.

Bobby and his sister, Suzie, originally had elderly owners that were unable to care for the pair after Suzie had become badly injured. They gave them to a good Samaritan who did their best to help, but also found the dogs’ needs too advanced for what they were prepared to care for. When Bobby and Suzie came to us they had been living outside for quite a while, and Suzie’s severe injuries were beyond repair. She couldn’t walk, was in a lot of pain, and all our vets determined that despite their best intentions there was nothing they could do to help Suzie heal.

We sent Suzie to the rainbow bridge surrounded by love and vowed to give her brother, Bobby, his chance at a happy forever. We had him fully evaluated by our vet and brought up to date on vaccines and heartworm testing and prevention (Luckily, despite all the time spent living outdoors, Bobby was heartworm negative.) He was also neutered on Friday and is now settling into his new foster home.

Bobby is a sweet boy with a lot of love to give, but he has a lot of anxiety given his recent life experiences. He will need time to decompress and begin to trust his people, so we’re thankful he has a new foster Mom that is willing to work with Bobby at his speed and give him all the patience, affection, and reassurance he needs.

You’re safe, Bobby, and we’re so glad to have you with us.
