July 28, 2024: Welcome, Elwood!
Another day, another star in SECR’s house. Say hello to the second half of our own dynamic Blues Brothers duo, Elwood!
Elwood and his brother, Jake, came to SECR recently as strays, in need of a loving home, all the vetting, and an introduction to the good life as family dogs. They came in together, did a few sploots, got some treats. Bang! 5,000 zoomies. But, sticking together isn’t always as easy as it seems, and such is the case with these Blues Brothers.
Like many siblings, these two have pretty significant littermate syndrome resulting in a lot of anxiety and aggression if they’re forced to live together. So, for the brothers’ best interest, the band split and Elwood and Jake took their shows on the road into separate foster homes.
Like many double merles, Elwood is hearing impaired. But, he doesn’t let that get him down! He responds well to his humans, likes other dogs (that aren’t his brother), and hasn’t met a toy he didn’t love. He has a vet appointment on the books soon for booster shots and a neuter and dental will follow soon after.
Elwood is new to foster and not yet ready for adoption, but stay tuned for updates when you can catch one! Elwood reminds us you can’t catch him – he’s on a mission from corgs!
