10 years old, adopted by foster
November 14, 2024: Congratulations, Jackson!
Put your paws in the air for our boy Jackson, who officially made his foster family his forever family today!
Congratulations, cutie. We wish you the happiest retirement with all the love and zoomies.

August 12, 2024: Welcome, Jackson!
Please join us in welcoming our newest addition to the SECR family, Jackson!
Jackson is a senior boy, and a former breeding dog that comes to us in search of a better life for his “retirement.” He’s a sweet boy in need of a comfortable, relaxing place to call home, and we’re glad we could give him that as well as get him caught up on some much needed vet care. He had routine vaccines last week and thankfully tested negative for heartworm, but is currently battling an ear infection as well as an as yet diagnosed bleed from his urinary tract.
Jackson has not yet been neutered, and at 10 years old the fact that he is unaltered can contribute to a variety of critical health conditions. Bleeding without the presence of bacteria to explain it can often be an indicator of bladder cancer, so Jackson has a follow-up vet appointment later this week for an ultrasound. This boy has had a difficult life and deserves to have many good years as a happy member of a family. We are hoping to discover he is cancer-free so he can be neutered and quickly get on the path to the good life. Either way, we are committed to giving Jackson all the care he needs and pampering him as much as we can in the process.
Stay tuned for updates on Jackson. We’ll share more about him after his appointment later this week. In the meantime, welcome to SECR, Jackson. You’re already so loved!
