Jake

4-5 years old, adopted by foster

October 5, 2024: Congratulations, Jake!

It’s been a long, hard week for many in our region, but having a bright spot to celebrate helps us all.

Congratulations to our Blues Brother Jake, who has successfully completed his mission from corgs and has been adopted by his foster Dad!

July 28, 2024: Welcome, Jake!

Another day, another star in SECR’s house. Say hello to the first half of our own dynamic Blues Brothers duo, Jake!

Jake and his brother, Elwood, came to SECR recently as strays, in need of a loving home, all the vetting, and an introduction to the good life as family dogs. They came in together, did a few sploots, got some treats. Bang! 5,000 zoomies. But, sticking together isn’t always as easy as it seems, and such is the case with these Blues Brothers.

Like many siblings, these two have pretty significant littermate syndrome resulting in a lot of anxiety and aggression if they’re forced to live together. So, for the brothers’ best interest, the band split and Jake and Elwood took their shows on the road into separate foster homes.

Jake reports he’s doing well, enjoying his dinners, exploring his new world, and finding all the comfy beds with fun toys to play with. He has a vet appointment on the books soon for booster shots and a neuter and dental will follow soon after.

Jake is new to foster and not yet ready for adoption, but stay tuned for updates on this cool boy’s next ballad!
