~11-year-old mix, adopted

March 1, 2025: Congratulations, Cookie!

We’re kicking off the new month with our lucky 7th adoption of the year. Cheers to our sweet senior girl Cookie, who officially has her forever family!

We wish you and your family a life as beautiful as you are, Cookie. May everyone know that you’ll always look the best in pink pearls!

January 12, 2025: Adopt Cookie!

Cookie has good news to share – she’s the first SECR pup of 2025 to announce that she’s ready for her forever home! Learn about Cookie here and through her individual Facebook album. If you think you’ve got everything she needs, visit the “Adopt” page on our website to submit an adoption application.

**All applicants must be 21 or older and live within the Carolinas or Georgia. Submitting an adoption application is the first step in the process to adopt ANY SECR rescue dog. SECR’s primary commitment is to the rescue dogs in our care, and it is our mission to find the right home for every dog, not the right dog for every home.

Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to find the best fit for each available rescue dog, and our admin team will follow up with qualified applicants after applications are fully processed.

May 4, 2024: Welcome, Cookie!

It’s Star Wars Day, and the force guided a very special mix our way. Say hello to Cookie.

This sweetie is a senior girl who, along with several canine and feline siblings, recently lost their home. Several rescues across North Carolina banded together to help them, and we are proud to have Cookie with us as part of that effort.

Getting Cookie looking and feeling her best was priority #1 for us this week, so after a quick spa day to get her cleaned up and her skin feeling better, she visited our vet for a check up and to get caught up on vaccines. Cookie has been prescribed medication for a UTI and medicated antifungal bath treatments to address her yeasty skin condition. She’s also getting started on medication today for tapeworms. In addition to the immediate prescription care she needs, Cookie’s fosters will be working on improving her diet, as poor nutrition may be contributing to some abnormal blood levels and fatty deposits at the base of her tail and elsewhere on her body. She’ll also have an ultrasound of her liver and spleen this coming week to rule out any masses that may also be contributing to her condition. Cookie has been through a lot and has an uphill battle, but we’re glad that she’s with a dedicated, experienced foster family that will see her through every step of the way.

If you’d like to contribute to the cost of Cookie’s medical care, any amount helps ensure that she can get the routine and critical treatment she needs to thrive.

You can contribute online through Jora’s fund, a foster-sponsored fund for dogs with multiple health issues, here: https://southeastcorgirescue.com/help…/donate/joras-fund/

Welcome to the family, Cookie. We’re thankful you’re with us and that we can join you on this next adventure in life. We promise to bring you as much happiness along the way as we can.
