5 years old, Adopted
Congratulations LENNY!
This sweet boy has found his forever home! We wish Lenny and his new forever family boundless love and many adventures in the years ahead!
June 27, 2025: Adopt Lenny!

The little corgi that could, our sweet boy Lenny, is checking in with a special announcement: he’s officially beginning the search for his forever home!
Friends, we know that to see Lenny and hear his story and recovery journey is to love him and want him. But the truth is that he has special needs and requires a special family that is willing and able to fill each of them. Please read Lenny’s poster here and check out the rest of his album. If you can check all of his boxes, head to our website to submit an application.
** All applicants must be 21 or older and live within the Carolinas or Georgia. Submitting an adoption application is the first step in the process to adopt ANY SECR rescue dog, but submitting an application does not guarantee placement. SECR’s primary commitment is to the rescue dogs in our care, and it is our mission to find the right home for every dog, not the right dog for every home.
Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to find the best fit for each available rescue dog, and our admin team will follow up with qualified applicants after applications are fully processed.
May 10, 2025: Thank you for loving Lenny

Friends, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for showering our sweet Lenny with so much love.
We introduced this boy earlier this week and invited you all to help us support his medical care, and you rose to the challenge. In just three days, we raised nearly $3,600 to put Lenny on the road to recovery, and we’re so thankful for your generosity.
We always say we can’t do what we do without you, and Lenny is lucky to have such a big fan club cheering him on. Stay tuned for updates on his progress!
May 7, 2025: Welcome, Lenny!
Friends, please join us in welcoming a very special recent addition to the SECR family. This is Lenny.
Lenny joins us as one of the sweetest boys, but very down on his luck. He’s been behind on health care for quite some time and is battling a severe skin allergy, a case of fleas and resulting tapeworms that have resulted in, well, the very sad condition you see him in here.
Lenny went straight to our vet when he came into rescue and we’ve started him on a course of treatment for his skin and worms – a combination of prescription medication and regular medicated baths – that we’re hoping to see kick in very soon. Lenny has also received a much-needed nail trim and his first round of long overdue vaccines and is on schedule to receive the rest at the end of the month once he begins showing some signs of recovery. In the meantime, the PJs he’s wearing in one of these photos will protect his skin from scratching and irritation as he heals.
This boy has a long road ahead of him, but we’re thankful he’s with us and that we could place him with some of our best special needs fosters who are committed to Lenny’s rehabilitation. He’s already shown us that he’s thankful to be with us too, as he bonds with his new foster parents and siblings.
If you’d like to contribute to Lenny’s care, please consider a contribution to our Have a Heart fund. Any amount large or small helps us cover the many medical treatments Lenny will need to get on track to good health, and we’d appreciate your support.

We look forward to watching, and sharing, Lenny’s transformation as he improves. This is rescue.
