Senior ~ Male ~ Corgi mix ~ Rainbow Bridge
Meet “Rebel”: We are not quite sure how much corgi this little boy has in him, but he needed our help. His 95 year old owner died, leaving him homeless. One of our longtime fosters agreed to provide a loving hospice foster for him because she said “He just needs a place to lay his head and feel safe”. We agreed and he will be leaving the shelter today. We are not sure how much health care he has had but he looks to be in rough shape. We’ll do our best for you, Rebel.
Update: This little guy is a little confused as to what is going on. He was restless and anxious last night and would not eat or drink. He is getting lots of TLC from foster mom. He did well with her dogs, who seem to understand that he is frail.
Rebel went to the vet today. We are waiting on results of the bloodwork, the Snap4, xrays, and a fine needle aspiration. He has several masses and one under his right arm is of some concern. He also has a grade 2-3 heart murmur. His vision is better than we expected. He knows when he is approaching steps and, goes up and down them with relative ease. Thankfully, he did eat and drink when he got home from the vet. We will update as soon as we know more. Thanks so much to those who donated towards his vet care!
Update: Rebel is laying quietly in his new bed. For those of you that do not know, he has some pretty serious anxiety issues. He was pacing and panting until he flopped. Doc gave him some meds this morning and, he is much more relaxed. His new name will also be Rosco. He is far from a Rebel.
Update 12/5/19 – Roscoe went to the rainbow bridge today. He had joined the SECR family as a hospice foster and we knew his time with us would be limited due to his many health issues. Rest in peace, dear Roscoe, you will forever have a place in our hearts.
