Supporting Our Forever Fosters

Puppies steal the show with their energy and antics and immediately become social media favorites, but nothing warms our hearts like the senior pups and especially our beloved Forever Fosters.  These are our older pups that come into rescue with age and end of life health issues.  Our wonderful fosters take them into their hearts and home and shower them with all the love, care, and comforts they need and deserve.  As a community and a rescue, Southeast Corgi Rescue provides emotional support, shares knowledge and experience, and pays for the forever foster’s veterinary needs.

In recent days, a few of our Forever Fosters have experienced some set backs.

Please keep these beautiful babies and their foster families in your thoughts.  If you would like to purchase our first ever SECR 2020 Corgi Foster Calendar, with all of our Forever Fosters featured —  click HERE. All proceeds goes to the care of our dogs.   If you would like to make a donation to SECR  — click HERE.

Dobby

DOBBY has perfected the art of the nap.   We think he is at least 12.  This beautiful fluffy senior came into foster through a shelter rescue.  He has arthritis and his hearing isn’t so go.  But this sweet boy is dignified and regal down to his paws.

Lord Zipper

LORD ZIPPER has become quite the snuggle pup.  He is not fond of other dogs, but he loves playing with his squeaky toys. He came into foster with weight, mobility, and kidney issues.  He has made great strides while in foster, but is currently suffering a set back.  We will keep you posted.

Roscoe

ROSCOE came to us as “Rebel” but the name didn’t fit with this laid-back 14 year old’s temperament.  He recently suffered a stroke, but he is bright eyed, eating and drinking well, and potties fine too.  Since he is comfortable and his quality of life is still good, even if his backend is a little wobbly, we will continue to send love and support to his foster mom as she keep a close eye on him.

Sabastian

SABASTIAN is our senior senior at 17.  He is sassy, opinionated, and an irrepressible ham.  He was well cared for by his elderly owners, but came to us overweight, with arthritis and kidney issues.  He is now on a special diet and doing well.  Though  quite vocal in his complaints when food is around but not shared.

Shelby

SHELBY is Ms. Personality Plus.. she is SECR’s forever foster matriarch and “The Queen of the House” in her foster home.  Her favorite things are food, her foster mom, food, her toys, food, other dogs, food… Her least favorite things — diets and being told she already ate.
