Sydney

~10 years old, corgi mix, in foster

August 21, 2023: Celebrating Sydney

See this face? Is the face of a dog that is happy and relieve to finally be in a foster home where she can thrive.

For months we’ve been putting out a call for special needs foster families that could accommodate a rescue dog that needs to be the only pet in the home, and the person that Sydney has been looking for finally stepped forward. THANK YOU!

Want to help more dogs like Sydney? We’re still in need of more foster homes without other pets, so if you can provide one please head to our website to submit an application. Placing our long list of current dogs in need will bring us one step closer to being able to re-open our doors for intake.

August 2, 2023: Can you give Sydney the new foster home she’s looking for?

Sydney is a small girl, and she appreciates the little things in life – grass to romp in, good air smells to sniff, a human to give her some snuggles, and a long-term foster home to call her own. So far we’ve been able to check all the boxes on sweet Sydney’s list except for the last one. She’s still looking for that person (or people) willing to take a chance on her and give her a long-term foster home where she can thrive.

Sydney may be a senior girl on paper (she’s about 10), but if you saw her zest for life you’d never guess it. She has some medication that she needs to take every day for some health issues related to what is likely Cushings Disease, but as long as she gets it she’s a happy, healthy girl who makes the most of every day. Other dogs cause her some anxiety, so while she can handle seeing and interacting with them when she’s out and about, she needs to live in a home that she doesn’t share with other animals.

If you can give Sydney the home she’s looking for, she’ll have so much love to give in return. Take a chance on her and we promise you, it’ll be worth it.

Check out the rest of Sydney’s album on Facebook and then head to our foster page on this website to submit your foster application. Mention this post when you do, and hurry! Sydney is waiting for you.

August 22, 2022: Welcome Sydney!

Please help us welcome SECR’s new girl, Sydney!

This sweetheart is our latest “chorgi” (a likely corgi / chihuahua mix) and joins us as a shelter pull. She’s slowly settling in to her new foster home and happy to have a comfy place to lay her head after the stresses of the shelter environment. Once Sydney gets the lay of her new land we’ll be getting her caught up on veterinary care, on a good diet and exercise plan, and begin working on her training and socialization needs. She’s a tiny girl that’s very overweight, so helping her become her healthiest, best self is at the top of our to-do list.

Welcome to the family, Sydney! We’re so happy to have you with us and look forward to getting to know you!
